Think back to the days when no one had mobile computers, it was only big clunky desktop computers. They weren’t days where you could check your email on the go.
There were primarily desktop towers that took up a huge amount of space, were clunky, unattractive, noisy and put out a lot of heat. Thankfully, we’ve moved on to more sleek, powerful, mobile and convenient laptops.
Given the trend in people converting from desktop computers to laptops, I’ve decided to give you tips on how to download Kik for laptop computers.
These tips, combined with mobility will allow you to access the Messenger app almost anywhere. No need to worry to see if you have your phone with you everywhere you go and no need to install software if you don’t want to.
There are three good options when it comes to Kik Messenger for laptops and I’ll outline all three below. They each have pros and cons, which I will try to cover below so you can get a good sense of which one you should go for and why.

How To Kik On Laptop Guide
You may be wondering what the big deal is about getting Kik on your laptop as opposed to your desktop computer or your iPhone or Android. Of course you can use each of these devices to send messages to your friends but it’s a problem if you only have a notebook computer.
Note: Before you get started is that you WILL need a Google Play account that allows you to download apk files for apps. If you don’t have an Android then try to borrow a friends Android smartphone or tablet.
Login to your Google Play account and activate your account with the device. That way you can download the apps onto your laptop.
Now, let’s get into some more detail on how to download Kik and get it up and running.
KiK Messenger For Laptop With Manymo
A great option for running Kik is Manymo, which is an online Android emulator and allows you to run Android apps on your laptop. Unlike other emulators you can run apps without having to download any software beyond the app.
Simply sign up for Manymo so that you can run your own emulator online. From there, you can download the Kik Messenger app from Google Play onto your laptop.
Once you have Kik downloaded and logged into Manymo you can follow these steps:
- First, you will want to launch the emulator by heading over to Manymo and click to launch with app in the top right.
- Now, it will give you the option to browse for the app and find the Kik Messenger app to upload to your emulator.
- Click the continue button and launch after you have picked your emulator screen size.
You’re now all set up to run Kik Messenger on your laptop. Below, I will get into some options for downloading a stand alone Android emulator.
Kik For Laptop With Andyroid
Andyroid is one of the newest options for Android emulators and has shown a lot of promise and has had great reviews thus far. This option allows you to download the actual emulator onto your laptop.
The app is fully functional on Windows PC laptops but is still in alpha testing phase for Mac computers. So if you have a Mac this may not be a good option.
To get Kik running using Andyroid on your laptop follow these steps:
- Download the Andyroid app onto your computer. Take a look at your downloads folder and from there double click the file to install Andyroid and follow the steps.
- From there, you will want to setup the 1 click sync on Andyroid so that you can sync your Google Play account with your Andyroid software.
- Once you’ve gone through the 1 click sync and setup the connection you will automatically see a mirror of your Android account on Andyroid. If you don’t already have Kik Messenger installed, simply click the search button, search for Kik and click the install button.
Now, onto the last and most widely used Android emulator.
Run Kik On Your Laptop With BlueStacks
The last option is BlueStacks, which is available for both PC and Mac laptops so you don’t have to worry if you’re a Windows or Apple user. Also, BlueStacks is probably the most widely used and best supported emulator. The downside is that I find BlueStacks to be buggy and it has a lot of glitches.
You will want to follow the same steps you followed for Andyroid pretty much exactly. Download the app onto your computer, install BlueStacks and from there you will want to sync your Google Play account with the emulator. That will sync your apps already installed on your Android device so you can sync Kik on your laptop. Let us know if you have any issues with any of the three options above. They are each good in their own right and you can decide which one fits your needs and works best with your laptop.
Tips: If it’s an older laptop, I would suggest staying clear of the emulators you have to download as the graphics card may not be great and may not be compatible.
If that’s the case you may want to go for Manymo, the online emulator. Alternatively, if your internet connection is poor you may prefer to download the emulator so if your signal cuts out you won’t have to restart the emulator.
