Have you ever made a visit to the Smiley Shop on Kik Messenger, found an emoji there that you really like, and then clicked on it only to see that it costs more than your Kik points balance holds? Do you still want that smiley?
Then you need to know how to get more Kik points.
What is a Kik Point?
Kik is one of the popular messaging apps that have gained immense popularity over the years. The messaging platform has a large user base. Kik is a great alternative to other chat apps like Facebook Messenger or social media platforms. The app is available on app stores and can be downloaded for free.
In Kik Messenger, Kik points are an in-app virtual currency or digital currency that can be earned by active user members can use to enhance their chat experience. It lets you buy exclusive emoji and art that you then own and can insert into a message to a friend whenever you want to spark up a text. Kik points are totally free, and I’ll tell you how to get some every single day, but first let’s look at how we use Kik points.
When you send a message in Kik Messenger, you have all kind of options available that you can add to a text to emphasize your message, show your true feelings, or make a friend laugh with you:
- You can snap a photo or take a short video clip with the in-app camera tool and send it on to a friend without leaving Kik Messenger to manage photo files.
- With the Riffsy .gif gallery, you can choose a GIF from among literally hundreds onboard in Kik Messenger. Just find the GIF you want to send and add it to your message.
- Kik Messenger also has its own Meme Generator. Choose from dozens of popular meme images, add your text, and share with friends in a text.
- You can add standard smileys from your phone keyboard, or you can open Kik Messenger’s emoji keyboard by clicking the “+” sign when composing a new message to a friend.
All of these tools that help you make your messages more fun and meaningful are available totally free in Kik Messenger.
You can add even more to your texts with special emoji, sticker art, and more that you get by spending Kik points in the shops on Kik Messenger. Kik points are totally free, too. You can’t buy them with real money no matter how hard you try.
The Smiley Shop
You can spend your Kik points (kp) in the Smiley Shop, Sticker Shop, and on one very special chat bot in the Bot Shop. Most recently, I visited the Smiley Shop with about 1,200 kp to spend. I’ll share that user experience to give you an example of how we use kp and how many kp we need.
In the Smiley Shop, you will find exclusive Kik Messenger smileys (emoji) that you can buy individually or in Mystery Packs of three from a collection.
On my last visit, I discovered Unique Horn from the Ye Olde Smileys collection. She is absolutely adorable, and expresses “mad” or “misc” feelings in a message. I knew before clicking that she would be a little pricey. That’s because Unique Horn is Legendary.
Smileys can be Common, Epic, or Legendary and will cost more when their status is higher. As the only Legendary smiley in her collection, Unique Horn costs 4,000 kp.
The good news is, once you purchase Unique Horn (like any emoji you buy at the Smiley Shop), she goes into your locker where you can keep her on hand to replace ‘grrrr!’ in any message in the future, even after her collection is no longer offered for purchase.
Another cute smiley I’m falling for is Falling for the Fuzz in the Fuzz Friends collection. He’s Legendary, too. Securing him in my locker will take a steep 8,000 kp. That’s a purchase that would drain most peoples’ kp balance to zero, and my skimpy 1,200 kp balance doesn’tcome close.
Fortunately, both of these collections have a Mystery Pack available for 150 kp. For that 150 kp, you get three mystery smileys from the collection. No choosing which ones, of course, for it is a mystery. Think of it as a grab bag, perhaps.
First, I bought the Ye Olde Smileys Mystery Pack. For 150 kp, I got three smileys: On Point, Merry Minstrel, and All Fired Up. All three of these are Common smileys that cost 50 kp each when purchased individually. This means I broke even, didn’t lose any kp value in the exchange, but I still do not have Unique Horn.
Fuzz Friends smileys are offered in a Mystery Pack called Jungle Fuzz, which mixes smileys from my desired collection with those from the In the Jungle pack. Well, when I bought this pack, I became the proud owner of Jungle emoji named Duuur? and Errr, both Limited Edition smileys worth 200 kp each on the open market, and Disappointed Fuzz, a cute Common smiley with a value of 50 kp.
Should I keep trying Mystery Packs or just save up my kp to buy Falling for the Fuzz and Unique Horn individually? Well, they’ll cost me a total of 12,000 kp. How will I ever get that many kp?
Kik Points Bot
Have you met the Kik Points bot? Tap on the magnifying glass in Kik Messenger to find him in the Bot Shop, or click here to scan his Kik code. Chat him up once and he’ll be there every day, reminding you to take a few minutes to chat with him.
When you chat with Kik Points bot, he offers you free kp in exchange for a bit of your time spent watching an offer from a valuable Kik sponsor. It usually takes less than 20 seconds to watch the video, play the game, download the free branded sticker pack, or visit the web site link (Kik Messenger has a built-in Web browser, so you never leave the app).
Usually, he presents you with three offers per day. You can choose to complete them and take the kp, or you can refuse it and he’ll try to find one you like better.
When all the offers for the day are gone, Kik Points bot asks if you want to play the spin game for a chance to win more kp. Of course, you always will want to spin to win. Sometimes you do, sometimes you come away with nothing.
The day’s bounty from the Kik Points bot seems to be around 150 kp, though there have been days when he’s given me twice that or more. The more often I play, the better the offer seem to be. I have a ways to go to save up enough to get both Unique Horn and Falling for the Fuzz, but I’ll get there.
Special Offers
If you are chatting regularly with Kik’s partner bots, you may get offers for kp in exchange for completing offers there, too, but most of these offers now come through the Kik points bot.
Don’t Cheat
“All good is hard. All evil is easy. Dying, losing, cheating, and mediocrity is easy. Stay away from easy.”- Scott Alexander
Whatever you do, don’t use cheats. It doesn’t take long for the kp to add up if you chat with Kik Points bot every single day. First of all, as fun as spending our kp can be, when you use a cheat to get kp you are laying aside your integrity for something that isn’t really worth it. Secondly, you risk being discovered by Kik Messenger and having your account suspended. Again, it’s just not worth it. Get all your kp from the Kik points bot.
Bot Shop
Now that you know how to keep those kp coming every single day and absolutely for free, let’s look at more ways to spend them.
Surely you recall that earlier I made mention of a very special personality in the Bot Shop that needs a few kp to do its best work for you. That lovely helper is Secret Admirer bot.
Secret Admirer bot will send an anonymous message to someone on your contact list. The intent here is for it to be a positive, happy expression of admiration. Do not use it for stalking, pestering, or worse because even though the recipient doesn’t know who you are, Secret Admirer bot provides them with a button to click to report inappropriate content and, rest assured, Kik knows who sent it.
Anyway . . . Secret Admirer bot offers you three levels of assurance that your message will go through anonymously. When you send it free, there is a 50-50 chance she will cloak you. Spend 15 kp, and your odds of remaining a secret increase to 75%. Give the bot a modest 25 kp and she promises your identity will never be disclosed.
Sticker shop
Last but certainly not least, you can spend your kp in the Sticker Shop. Stickers are little pieces of art that you add to your texts in Kik Messenger.
Unlike emoji offered in the Smiley Shop, pricing is consistent here. Stickers offered in packs cost 250 kp per pack. Pack stickers presently include the Emotes, Basketball, and Hashtags collections.
Other collections offer stickers individually at 40 kp each. These collections are Daisy Doodles, Student Life, Owl Town, Vintage LOLs, and others.
It’s easy to add to your kp balance every day when you know how to get more Kik points. If you want a smiley that costs thousands of points, just remember to visit the Kik points bot every single time he pops up to remind you it’s time for a new offer, and be patient. It builds character. While you’re waiting to get it, tell me about that special emoji you’re saving your kp to buy. Thanks for reading!
